Kevin Gates Thanks Fans For Support Drops “What If” Video

To coincide with the release of the video, Kevin Gates posted a message for his fans on his Instagram account. He is currently working on his new mixtape “By Any Means 2” dropping on September 21st. By this I’m speaking in reference to hardship. With that being said I’m him. “Dear Loyal Family. In closing I remain the same.”

Despite being in jail for some time now, Kevin Gates manages to remain relevant thanks to some new music released by his label. Around the time of his sentencing in April, he released some new music including this single “What If” and now we have a visual. Kevin Gates gave his fans a big shout-out on Instagram yesterday and drop the video for “What If.”
The Baton Rouge rapper is currently serving a 30-month prison sentence for a gun charge. Disallow yourselves to be troubled in my time of absence. “In the name of the most gracious most merciful,” he wrote. The conscious single samples Joan Osborne’s “One of Us” and the symbolic clip features footage of Gates in prison and clips of distress youths in a portrayal for whats going on right now in the society. I love you all. All of the great ones who came before and will come after me: Have had to go through this. A great a person is measured by all of the great test they can undergo and still remain true to who they are. That project will be the followup to the first installment in the series released in 2015
