Scientists have found a solution to one of the problems of therapy for chest cancer

During the surgical treatment of cancerous tumors of the chest wall, as explained by the scientists of the Siberian State Medical University, there are so-called post-resection defects caused by the removal of bone-cartilaginous structures. A simple and reliable way to restore the chest after extensive surgical interventions in cancer patients was developed by scientists from the Siberian State Medical University (SSMU) with the participation of Russian and foreign colleagues. The study was published in the Journal of Functional Biomaterials. According to the authors, the new method has no analogues in terms of effectiveness and allows to provide assistance to those patients who were previously inoperable.
